jon puliatano goes global
by Hayley Miller
The land of hair and fashion is volatile – it often takes years of toil and frustration to prove yourself worthy of just one notable gig. Then there are those times when the stars align and you find yourself with an invitation to embark on an experience of galactic proportions. We can only imagine that Jon Pulitano saw this tour as one such opportunity.
Hailing from Sydney’s trendy Paddington salon Headcase Hair, and styling it up as part of the ghd Directive for some years now, Jon is no stranger to hard work, least of all the backstage slog of a fashion week. But how about fashion week in New York, London, Milan and Paris… back to back? The world was literally his playground late last year, when he was asked to assist über session stylist Guido Palau (and Redken Creative Consultant) on his fashion week tour of duty, working on shows for more than 15 designers across the four events.“I’ve been going to New York for the past five years to work on fashion shows for ghd,” says Jon, “and these included some fantastic international shows and also local designers that helped me make some great contacts.”
